USPS announces new Letters to Santa product line
Christmastime and falling snow mean Santa is coming, and jolly Old Saint Nick means scores of children will be crafting their wish lists. To help disadvantaged kids get their Christmas wish, the U.S. Postal Service has continued its Letters to Santa program, now in its 100th year. Like Santa and the USPS, businesses will be visiting thousands of homes this year, only in the form of direct mail. To streamline delivery, companies should invest in address verification software.
To commemorate the centennial anniversary, the USPS introduced new Letters to Santa products for businesses, charities and other organizations that adopt children's wish lists this year.
Some highlights of the product launch include the In the Mailbox Holiday Bear, a stuffed teddy bear holding a red and green gift, which also features the 2012 Santa and Sleigh Forever stamp image on one paw. Another is a children's book that admiringly writes of Santa's adventures and the help he gets from the USPS in delivering gifts.
“The Letters to Santa products make great gifts and are so easy to ship, whether you choose to mail them using a Priority Mail Flat Rate Box, a decorative ReadyPost carton or bubble mailer, or send one that’s already boxed,” said Kelly Sigmon, vice president of channel access for the USPS.
