Motorcycle stamp set launches in Canada
When looking to reach Canadian customers, small- and medium-sized businesses utilize Postal Address Verification to ensure consumers receive the correct mailing materials. But direct mail marketers have a new way to engage Canadian customers - motorcycle stamps from Canada Post.
Canada Post recently launched two Permanent domestic rate stamps with a motorcycle theme. Each stamp depicts an early motorcycle model - either the 1914 Indian or the Canada Cycle and Motor Company's (CCM) 1908 Lightweight Motor Cycle.
The stamps showcase the bikes from the biker's perspective of driving down the road, while also including a profile view. Both are set against a white background.
The models were chosen for their popularity among Canadians and to celebrate Canadian motorcycle manufacturing. CCM was a leading Canadian motorcycle manufacturer in the early 1900s, with the 1908 Lightweight Motor Cycle being one of the company's first models, according to Canada Post. The Indian Motorcycle Company's 1914 model was favored by Canadian bikers in the early part of the 20th century.
Jim Phillips, director of stamp services at Canada Post, said the stamps honor Canada's legacy of freedom and adventure.
"When motorcycles first captured the imagination of adventurers, Canada's entrepreneurs, designers and manufacturers were there," Phillips said. "These stamps pay tribute to the excitement of those early days."
