Direct mail still a valued means of communication in Canada
Direct mail is still a part of any successful cross-media marketing campaign, reported Canadian news source Print Can.
At the recent 2012 Toronto Digital Printing Forum presented by Interquest, a market and technology research and consulting firm, attendees discussed a recent survey conducted by Interquest, as well as changes in the Canadian marketing industry, said the source.
The survey found direct mail is still the most popular media for promotional messages in Canada, with 36 percent using the marketing strategy as their main marketing component. Direct mail is also one of the best ways to send customers bills and records.
Gilles Biscos, the president of Interquest, said at the conference that the bulk of consumers still value printed documents for bills, said the news source. Many companies have begun using online billing, but Biscos referenced statistics that show only 10 to 12 percent of consumers look at online bill and statements.
Businesses can use products like address verification software to make sure their promotional messages and billing statements reach their customers.
