Direct mail: Part of any successful integrated marketing campaign
Especially given the tough economy, it's important for businesses to get the best return on their investment for their marketing strategy. One of the most effective ways to do this is to take advantage of direct mail marketing, according to an article by full service marketing firm RICG.
Direct mail is having a revival due to email marketing efforts ending up in spam folders, and internet marketing strategies experiencing varying levels of success, the source said.
"No matter the communication channel, the function and objective of direct response remains the same after all these years - a means of commerce allowing businesses and nonprofits to showcase their products, services and needs directly to customers around the globe," Brian Wagner wrote for Target Marketing magazine, the source reported.
Wagner referenced recent statistics compiled by the Directing Marketing Association, which found spending on direct mail is expected to grow more than 3 percent annually until at least 2014, the source said.
Direct mailing efforts have benefited from recent advancements in technology, such as address verification software, which ensures direct mail pieces are sent to deliverable locations.
