Datatech shows off new technology for its Presswise product
At the recent Dscoop 7 conference held in Washington, D.C., Datatech Smartsoft showcased the latest innovations the company has added to PressWise, its web-to-print and print workflow software.
Datatech Smartsoft was located in booth 817, where it showed off its new technology, which will include features such as inventory management, an all new support center and new API tools.
"The typical Dscoop attendee is exactly the type of printer that PressWise is perfect for – they are inherently forward-thinking, ready to adapt to the changing market for print, with a focus on growing their digital business," said Eric Wold, vice president of Datatech SmartSoft.
At the conference, Wold also hosted a presentation, titled "Print Workflow and the Cloud: Why SaaS Is Here To Stay."
In his presentation, Wold clarified that software-as-a-service is a way of delivering an application as a utility that is not tied to on-premises hardware. He asserted that SaaS offers a number of benefits when compared to a traditional, self-hosted model for print workflow operations, including lower implementation costs, faster implementation and faster return on investment. An SaaS solution increases profitability by increasing the ways a business can process orders and speedily deliver through automated workflows, while reducing cost centers.
On the same day Wold presented, Sally Hogshead from Fascinate was the keynote speaker at the conference. In her speech, she discussed ways business owners can fascinate customers.
Hogshead told the crowd that the average attention span has shrunk to just nine seconds. Given this, business owners should seek to capture consumer attention by employing "fascination triggers": power, passion, mystique, prestige, alarm, rebellion and trust.
