Canada Post aims to improve customer service with more retail postal outlets
The collaboration between two like-minded organizations can often bring about mutually beneficial results. Canada Post recently made several moves to offer customers and businesses a more convenient way to ship packages or send mail.
The postal service is banking off of the regular shopping habits of Canadians by partnering with several Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacists throughout the country. The Canadian agency is collaborating with owner Ebrahim Naimi of Edmonton to provide citizens with a more convenient way to handle parcel deliveries and online purchases.
More importantly, business hours are being extended at postal service centers in the stores, resulting in greater flexibility for enterprises. If a company is using direct mail to send out marketing information, they'll not only have more location options for sending the mailing items, but will also benefit from greater availability on the part of Canada Post. The postal outlet services at the Edmonton, Halifax and Seton Crescent locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and will remain in operation on weekends.
As a result, for companies that need to deliver direct mail items in the case of an emergency or unexpected circumstances, there will be no delays in getting their materials out. Businesses that use mailing software to validate or correct mailing addresses can streamline their marketing initiatives to an even greater extent. With this move, consumers and enterprises alike will experience expanded convenience.
Doug Jones, senior vice-president of delivery and customer experience at Canada Post, explained the partnerships with local retailers like Shoppers Drug Mart will help the postal service continually improve customer satisfaction. In addition to longer business hours, customers can purchase stamps, get money orders and utilize the post office boxes on premises.
