RESTful Address Verification API Functionality
SmartSoft Inc., introduced a new RESTful address verification API for its web-based address validation service AccuMail Verify. The REST API lets organizations of all sizes integrate address validation into most applications that handle address information, such as web forms, customer databases or shipping and billing systems.
Employing a USPS CASS Certified engine for accuracy, the AccuMail Verify API ensures that each address entered is validated before it enters a database. Addresses are standardized and elements such as the ZIP + 4, added. Additionally, our AccuMail Verify REST API flags whether the address is residential or business, and appends geocode data to each address record, including latitude and longitude coordinates. Since AccuMail Verify is fully integrated into existing applications and address forms, addresses are validated in real time across a secure network without users ever leaving the page.
“It costs much less to correct addresses as they are entered than trying to fix issues that arise once bad addresses have entered your database”, said Tony Tarpey, Chief Operating Officer at SmartSoft. “Lost or late mail and packages, expensive carrier address correction penalties and frustrated customers all take their toll on your service team, your reputation and your bottom line. “
“We launched our AccuMail Verify service over 6 years ago using a SOAP interface, which we will continue to offer, and continually look to improve and evolve our product to meet the needs of our customers. Our new REST API provides a modern, programmable interface and lightweight data specification that is simple, secure and extensible, so our customers can quickly get up and running and feel confident in the accuracy and security of their data.”
