Website uses postcards to help Americans find lost pets
Many Americans value their pets like children, and losing them can be devastating. Peter Glynn, founder of LostPetCards.com, a service that creates postcards of missing pets and mails them to addresses near where the animals were last seen, understands this. He has turned to the power of direct mail to help people find their lost animals, reported Deliver magazine.
Olga Dion, a resident of Santa Barbara, California, was able to see how the direct mailings from LostPetCards.com work: They helped her find her lost cat. Dion had hung posters and distributed fliers before she turned to the website, said the magazine.
“People don’t necessarily see signs hanging on telephone poles, but when they see a postcard, oftentimes they’ll hang it on their fridge,” Glynn told the magazine.
Glynn has worked in the mailing industry for more than 20 years, so he understand how postcards can stand out in the mail. Design elements are key when it comes to creating postcards, which is one of the main tenets of Glynn's business.
If there is anything for businesses to learn from Dion's story, it can be that well-designed postcards can get the job done. Using web-to-print software will give businesses the opportunity to create postcards with strong design elements.
