Teaching dog walkers new tricks with QR codes
In a number of different industries, people have been able to leverage emerging technology to make business more efficient and track progress.
For those in the dog-walking sector, a new program using QR codes, mobile applications and GPS allows clients to better see where a walker is and when they arrive and depart. The recently-released Pet Check has tools for billing and tracking, and leverages QR codes on printed materials to ensure those responsible for the animals complete the task in a timely way.
"As a long-time owner of a successful dog walking company, I saw first-hand how much my clients love their dogs, so I wanted to ensure that they could be fully-confident in the dog walking that they were paying for," said Pet Check Technology founder Doug Simon.
The public sector in some countries have also begun using QR codes to better engage with customers, many of whom use address validation software. Canada Post recently stated it would be working with OpinionLab to put up the scannable materials at post offices throughout the country to get feedback from residents.
