Canada Post releases shipping suggestion dates
Last holiday season, Canada Post was nearly overwhelmed with the mass amounts of mailings it had to deal with. On two separate occasions the agency had to deliver more than a million parcels in a single day. This year, Canada Post anticipates making as many as 25 million deliveries.
In preparation for the busy season, the Canadian agency recently released a list of shipping suggestions. They are as follows:
Holiday cards:
Dec. 19 for local delivery
Dec. 18 for delivery in the same province
Dec. 17 for delivery to another province
Holiday cards to the U.S.:
Dec. 13 for delivery to any U.S. state
Holiday packages within Canada:
Dec. 23 with Priority shipping
Dec. 20 with Xpresspost shipping
Dec. 11 with regular parcel shipping
Holiday packages to the U.S.
Dec. 20 with Priority shipping
Dec. 17 with Xpresspost shipping
Dec. 10 with regular parcel shipping
It's shaping up to be an exceptionally busy year for postal operations, so businesses hoping to send out end-of-the-year promotional materials should focus on adopting the best practices available. Investing in mailing software can help optimize a company's entire mailing strategy, automating a number of the more labor-intensive aspects of the process, like presorting. Streamlined operations can help ensure parcels are sent out accurately and on time.
