Canada Post introduces new epost app, but direct mail still dominates
With Canada Post's new epost mobile application, customers have the ability to manage electronic bills remotely. But even with the app's successful launch and growing popularity, more than 75 percent of Canadians still handle their bills through traditional direct mail.
Through Canada Post's new app, users are offered the ability to consolidate bills, retrieve passwords, create folders and access digital safe deposit boxes. But recent numbers show only 8 million Canadians have registered with epost, and not all are guaranteed to be more than one-time users.
The agency's new application, however, is not their only one. Canada Post also offers a more diverse, generic application that can benefit all postal customers - not just bill-payers. With Canada Post's other app, which is named after the organization, customers can find postal codes, track parcels, locate nearby post offices and turn photos into customs stamps and/or post cards.
For businesses in Canada, among a bevy of other places, direct mail is still the primary means of delivering tangible items. To ensure safe and efficient delivery of all parcels, businesses can and should invest in address correction systems, which guarantee users the integrity of all addresses. Correction systems use sophisticated software to validate, correct and standardize all addresses as they are entered, helping to remove duplicates and monitor address changes.
