USPS Announces 2 Million New Addresses for NCOALink Database

The USPS recently announced that it is adding 2 million change-of-address records to its NCOALink database, records that were previously withheld because of ambiguities in the submitted addresses. In some cases the new address could not be ZIP +4 coded, while in others conflicting change-of-address orders were submitted. The USPS has now systematically removed any ambiguities in the original data and we are happy to announce that SmartSoft customers running their address data through either of our 2 NCOALink products – AccuMail Move or SmartAddresser MUV - will benefit from this larger database immediately.

One result of this that you should be aware of is that you may find change-of-address matches in your data that were not previously matched, with ‘Move Effective’ dates earlier than the last time you processed your data. This is not an error – just a byproduct of the expanded dataset.

Hopefully this information is self-explanatory, but if you need more information or explanation, please contact our Support team on (800) 578 8324 or email us at: support@smartsoftusa.com

You may also reach the USPS directly on: 800-589-5766 or via email at:  ncoalink@usps.gov
